Hmm... I have no idea why. I can see them...
It's because you're using AK as the image host.
No matter what I try I can’t get it to work. Totally easy at AK.
Yeah....I saw them at AK....nice!
Try a different hosting site like IMGUR
I’m not using a hosting site. AK has an upload file button, does this site? If so that would be awesome. I’m not finding it.
No, SHTV doesn't host images, they used to many years ago but stopped because they don't have the resources.
Bummer. Well, I have Google Photos but even that doesn’t work here so it is what it is. I have no interest in other hosting sites. Been burned with that before.
If you change mind,
Free account. Once signed up, upload pics from your HDD to IMGUR. Then once pic is uploaded to IMGUR, you should see the pic on your page. Click on it. Look to right and notice options for loading. I use the second from last. Pick size you want at bottom, then click link on side, second from bottom. That will copy link and paste it on Hoffman. Done.
Hope you can follow.
Hey Art - do you have Facebook and Messenger?
If you do you can send photos to yourself in Messenger - then right click the photo and select Copy Image Location. Then on here you click the photo and right click to paste. This will upload your photo. I assume the same thing would apply to any and all of the Facebook alternatives like Instagram etc.
Yeah Byron, I know how to use a hosting site but I hate wading through the noise. I think Richard has a solution I can try. None the less back to the speakers. In my limited time with them yesterday I must say that I’m impressed.
can you post a link to the AK thread? I could not find it in a quick search.
Spendor Classic 3/1
You're having a lots of fun, Art. Congrats on your purchase. Do you also still have the Tabs?
Incidentally, Art's Classic 3/1's look exactly like my SP3/1R2's. I wonder what was changed, if anything besides the nomenclature? All I can find online is the bass driver was "evolved from previous SP3/1R2."
..search his name and you should see the thread..
Try new gear value thread.
I do still have the Tab's. Not sure for how long though. The P3's are staying for sure.
I think they have changed a lot of things. Certainly the bass driver and crossover. Just look at the current iteration of 1/2 vs the last version. Not that one sounds any better than the other but they are different.
nice speakers. are they less neutral than the D series?
they look like yours !
I've only heard the D series once and did not get on with them. I also owned the A6R which had great slam for such a small sized floorstander but it was way too bright in the upper mid and lower treble. A very fatiguing listen.. I find these a an easy comfortable listen with more scale than my little monitors. I'm going to say that they are more typical of a thin wall BBC design. They remind me of the Harbeth C7's, but a bit more neutral.
A nice "feature" of the Classic series is that if you ever get a pining for a different flavor of treble, the tweeters can be replaced with drop-in Al/Mg units.
I don't know much about speaker design, but would the crossovers have to be adjusted with different tweeters installed?
The Al/Mg version of this tweeter is about 1db higher in sensitivity but it kind of evens out because its response is more rolled-off. If it sounds too hot you can replace one of the binding post jumpers with a 1ohm Mundorf resistor and connect the speaker cables to the lower terminals.
The look great Art! Also holy crap I forgot I had an AK account 135 alerts!
