    Hi guys.

There is a promotion for Pink Floyd Animals album which I'll take (maybe).

The vinyl version is 17€ while CD version is 8€.

Does the vinyl version worth the extra bucks? For what it seems on db dr there is an high level of dynamic range in vinyl.

How does it sound? It is the 2016 pressing (which is the 2011 remaster as far as I know).

    Best regards!

Both are great. Animals is the album that improved the most on 2011 remaster. And the vinyl version is also very nice.

I never owned an original, but the 2016 vinyl I think sounds outstanding. My ear was picking up details in the mix I never noticed before. Definitely worth it.

The 2016 vinyl release is identical to the cd as it's taken from the digital cd master.
I had the original vinyl and it was excellent sound quality. There are quite large variations in sound quality between the various versions.
Animals is my favourite pf album. It's really excellent.

So are you saying there is no sound quality difference between vinyl and cd version?

c-eling I never dreamed another way.

You may get better soundstage/depth due to it being a hi-rez digital to LP.
+ whatever color (cart/pre) may add, take away.

This is incorrect. The vinyl release is sourced from high resolution digital, the CD is sourced from a dithered 16/44.1 master.

So it has better sound quality right?

Guess I'll go with the vinyl version.

I'd definitely go with the LP version if you have a decent analog playback system.
