Years ago, my daughter would rip a DVD, convert it to play on her iPod, then bought an adapter that allowed her to plug the iPod into her TV to view the down-coded video (the same TV that had a DVD player connected)...
She thought it was awesome, I couldn't convince her otherwise...
It should be mentioned that she was 10...
Oh no this is madness live the mp3 alone!
would Newsweek ever consider not using non-words like "vinyls"?
Ordinarily, whatever people for their personal pleasure (as long as no one else is hurt) is fine with me.
CD vs Lossless files.
Lossy sounds the same as Lossless (or not).
Platinum SHM sounding better (or not) with the same mastering.
Cables sound different (or they don't).
and on and on...
Interesting to read different ideas, but whatever makes an individual happy is what I'd like to see that individual pursue.
But this somehow crosses a line. It bugs me.
While this is stupid, it doesn't strike me as particularly far from the digitally sourced vinyl from MOV, Cretins With Beards, and so many other labels. You're taking the limitations of digital and then combining them with the limitations of analog.
If you rip vinyl that was sourced from MP3, do you rip to lossless?
The user interface was probably better.
So what's this tiny picture supposed to be?
In the unlikely event that you would want to rip vinyl that was sourced from MP3, you should rip to lossless. Music that has been compressed twice is next to unlistenable.
the world has gone crazy, anything for a $$$$ but there seem to be people stupid enough to go for it
This is an outrage.
I am outraged.
Edsvinyl says that they take wav files, which means lossless is possible. For a picture disc project. Im keen on the idea of uploading pehaps a A and B side of a partucular band of up to 90mb each side per track and a picture (not saying which....) but would make a great unique one to treasure!
Anyone done this before? (and apart from picture discs being usually not great) - any reservations for a 12" black having issues from pure wav?
I wonder if they offer MiniDisc to 8-Track transfers.
I should fax them a telegram of my inquiry.
So cut MP3's to vinyl, rip that to lossless, record that on a cassette, and cut it to vinyl again...somewhere there is a conceptual artist working on a grant application along these lines.
I'm burning all my MP3's in protest.
It'd clearly improve Foo Fighters MP3's..
Is it tiny? It's not on my phone...
It's just an apocalyptic scene...just a little (now failed) joke.
I would consider it for my own music (that I created myself). but sourced from wav files.
This doesn't bother me. Who am I to say what someone else does with their money.
It'd sound great on on Crosley Turntable.
Separate names with a comma.
