"Some Might Say" is a song by the English rock band Oasis. It was released as the first single on 24 April 1995 from their second studio album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995). The song was written by the band's lead guitarist Noel Gallagher. "Some Might Say" provided Oasis with their first number one on the UK Singles Chart and reached the top 10 in Finland, Iceland, Ireland and Sweden.

The single release was also named an EP in the Stop the Clocks booklet. It is one of the only Oasis singles to officially be also categorised an extended play.

Interesting choice for a first single considering what was still to come from the album. They seemed to explode out of nowhere here with Wonderwall, so it's hard to imagine that there were 2 singles from the album before that in the UK.

Oasis - Some might say - never big on this stuff. The band did have some other songs I liked better though.

    Weezer - Buddy Holly
The best video ever! At the time, having never heard of Weezer, me and my pals all thought they were an actual 70s band from the show. Should have known by the guitar style... Love the "stay tuned for more" break in the middle and the thing where the guitarist mouths "I love you" to a girl just like on one of the episodes. A great song too.

    Björk - Army of me
Wonderful, from the great album Post. To me these first two albums are the best.

Not that the others aren't good. This week I've been mostly listening to Vespertine and Homogenic.

A very catchy good time tune, gets the head nodding. Apparently the original singer auditioned for the X-Factor with this song in 2018!

    1 - New - 6 - Scatman John - Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba- Dop-Bop)

John Paul Larkin, a.k.a. Scatman John, was an American jazz musician who moved to Germany in the early 90s. His agent suggested that he should combine his scat-singing with modern dance music. Larkin was reluctant at first, because he was afraid of being laughed at because of his stuttering. His wife suggested that he should face this problem by directly talking about it in his music, and he agreed. Larkin recorded his first single 'Scatman' in 1995. That song and the follow-up 'Scatman's World' became huge hits, and Larkin became a worldwide star at the age of 53. Unfortunately, he couldn't enjoy his success for too long, as he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1998, a disease that he succumbed to in December 1999, at the age of 57.

Great! I'm sure you'll like it. I don't have Selmasongs, it's the movie soundtrack right? Is it good?
