No worries, my man!
So why did it take 2 years for someone to point it out to forum members? I am usually on top of the latest Doors news and I had no idea.
Forum member Six Bachelors contacted Dr. Rhino about the wrong version being issued so the correct version was located and dropped in the box.
Dr. Rhino was sent the link to share with customers who contacted him about this issue.
I've been wondering about this for the past few days. Astonishing.
How many people besides Six Bachelors even realized that it was the wrong mix?
Until the link was posted here, the only downloader was in Sydney.
Well...not exactly. I must say, the label contact shared the file with me in circumstances that meant I really didn't know what was and was not expected of me. I then shared it privately with some people and then some other people contacted me privately. It has gradually made its way around, thankfully. Perhaps I should just have freed it but I thought that was the label's choice to make. All I did was contact Dr Rhino and my request must have made its way to the right person. I just got lucky. Nothing clever.
It was discussed on this very thread. I think it was known in here that the mix was wrong before I had even received my copy in the mail. The mixes are quite different though. The mix used on this set is odd to me - weird stereo placement.
Does anyone know where I can find the original photo used on this picture sleeve:
As you probably know, the photo was taken in Central Park, New York in March 1968 by Paul Ferrara. Here is a link to a copy of the photo: Erica Saldivar user analytics | Thpix
Thanks guys, that was fast. It's too bad the image has that banding effect.
Does anyone have a digital copy of the mono Love Street that they'd please be willing to share with me? Thanks a lot!!
Me too... please!
Thank you kindly!
That's Wishful Sinful! Whers's Love Street?
The link is to the officially provided replacement for the wrong Wishful Sinful mix. There is currently no official digital version of the Love Street promo mono mix from the recent-ish 45. I suspect that the forum would not tolerate a link to a needle drop of the recent 45 being posted here.
Wait! There is a replacement Wishful Sinful?
I have the Cd/Blu-ray how do I know if I have the correct mix or not? And if not how did one go about getting the replacement mix? Is there a public link from rhino?
If you have the physical product, you have the wrong mix. There was no version of the product with the correct mix made, but a file of the correct mix was offered by Rhino. The link is given in this post: #1717
Of course, if someone has it, they could always put it on youtube at least.
Pretty sure mods on this forum have trashed samples that ran too long, never mind a whole needledrop.
However, if it were posted on YouTube, and linked here, it'd likely get left alone - if WB didn't have it yanked. It's links to downloadable files that are discouraged here. (Let's forget the fact that YouTube audio and video and both be downloaded.)
I bought the The Doors Singles 45 Vinyl box set. Got the Wishful Sinful replacement link.
