Released on 26 March 1976, is widely considered as one of the finest, most elegantly written and performed prog albums of all times

Currently at #18 top prog album of all times at Progarchives

Never too late to celebrate this prog classic album and indeed classic band. Here’s hoping that there might be another album cooking.

Great album but even after reading articles about it, I still can't make heads or tails out of what the album cover is supposed to be.

This is one of the rare cases where remaster has more DR than original CD release, all sound good, I would stick with 2002 remaster. This is info I got so far:

Ordered by DR (only LP tracks taken in account), detailed list below:

    11.80 Moonmadness [1976 LP].txt
    10.50 Moonmadness [2002 UK].txt (4 bonus tracks)
10.50 Moonmadness [2013 Jap SHM].txt (identical to prev)
10.50 Moonmadness [2014 Jap SHM].txt (identical to prev, 2 bonus tracks missing)
    09.85 Moonmadness [2009 Jap] (Disc 1).txt
Moonmadness [2009 Jap] (Disc 2) (Live).txt (6 extra live tracks than 2002 release)
    07.45 Moonmadness [1991 Jap].txt (no bonus)

Love this album. Was annoyed that the CD didn't come with lyrics. I've seen contradictory lyrics for Air Born and would love a definitive answer.

I bought this album when it came out and saw Camel several times at the Guildford Civic Hall where they were regular visitors and always went down well, as guitarist Andy Latimer was from the town. The subsequent punk/new wave explosion rather distanced me from them but I recently picked the Moonmadness CD in a charity shop and was surprised at how well I remembered the songs and how much I enjoyed it.

I don't think it's as good as The Snow Goose on account of the fact that none of the band are particularly great singers but it's well worth checking out.

Great album, and Camel's last tour a few years back saw them perform it brilliantly. So much great music from Andrew Latimer and his teams over so many years.

"Song Within a Song" is such a fine tune. The instrumental ending is among the finest pieces ever recorded in the entire history of music!

A great album. This is my favorite by the band.

I bought the record when I was about 22 years old in 2000. I was a fan of King Crimson and Yes and I snatched up a lot of prog rock back in the days when vinyl was cheap. It didn't resonate with at the time because Camel is a somewhat low-key and subtle band. It's not edgy and cool like King Crimson. But as I got older, I grew to really appreciate it. Late 70's Genesis and early 80's Rush is also music that I grew to appreciate over time.
