I completely forgot about Teenage Fanclub, so if it has to be five:

    Stones
    Kinks
    Pretty Things
    Small Faces
    Teenage Fanclub

    ... in no order

  6. That's how I see it too: you make a career in a country - or a particular type of career you'll be famous for thanks to that country - then that country "owns" you as an artist.

I do consider the last 3 to be sixties bands, as well as 70s. All had at least one of their heydays in the 60s.

If I had to add 5 more, they would be

    Cream
    Pink Floyd
    Traffic
    Kinks
    Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac

    Beatles, Stones, and The Who.

After those, Dave Clark Five and The Move.

Then probably Hermans Hermits, Kinks (though I much prefer their '70s stuff), and maybe Peter and Gordon.
